Samyang Optics – also known as Rokinon – has just announced the sixth focal length in their XEEN CF lineup, the 135mm T2.2. The lens is designed for full-frame sensors, comes in three mount options (PL/EF/E), and sports a familiar carbon fiber construction. First introduced in September 2019, the XEEN CF lens series is a lightweight revisitation of the original XEEN cinema primes. The new lineup initially consisted of three focal lengths (24, 50, and 85mm T1.5), which were joined by the 16mm T2.6 and 35mm T1.5 just a few months later. However, the company then took a break from developing the XEEN CF lineup to focus on their first anamorphic lens and a new set of primes – the Meister lenses – instead. Now they seem to be back on track and ready to debut the XEEN CF 135mm T2.2. Let’s take a closer look.
